Regular movie songwriters Sid Tepper and Roy C.Bennett wrote this soundtrack song for Blue Hawaii, the first song that Elvis recorded at the soundtrack session for the movie on March 21st, 1961 at Radio Recorders in Los Angeles.
Later outings for the song include Blue Hawaii reissues and an alternate released An alternate take came out on Elvis Close Up in 200. Bootleg album Plantation Rock contains features a version Elvis sang in rehearsals for his Aloha From Hawaii Concert.
Hawaii was one of Elvis` favourite destinations for work or play. He gave high profile concerts on the island, he made three movies there and when he went on vacation, the first place he thought of was Hawaii.
