Joseph is a 2004 music graduate of The McDonald College, Sydney, Australia, where he held the Ann McDonald Senior Instrumental Scholarship. He was school vice-captain and events manager and was secretary general in the 2004 mock United Nations summit, held in Washington DC and New York City. As event manager he developed The McDonald College 20th anniversary performance, 'Choreoscope', held in the Concert Hall of the Sydney Opera House.
