This delightfully arch and camp number was written by Diana Morgan and Geoffrey Wright, with both of whom I had the pleasure of working in the mid 1980s, and who became my dear friends. FIDDLERS THREE was a starring vehicle for Tommy Trinder, and in it, Day played Nero's wife, Poppea. Miss Day was born in New York in 1908, where she commenced her career singing in nightclubs.
