Soo 1003 James Gardner Funeral Train

On August 7, 2008 the Soo #1003 was steamed up for a somber event. It pulled the funeral train of James Gardner. Mr Gardner was the father of William Gardner owner of the Wisconsin & Southern Railroad. James Gardner was an inventor most well known for his pipe bender. There might be a "Gardner Bender" in your basement. The #1003 pulled this train with Mr Gardner casket just a few miles but it was something not often seen, a steam engine draped in cloth....
