I figured I needed to watch a canceled tv show because that way I wouldn't have to devote really long periods of time to watch it on TV as it airs then watch commercials and blah blah they are too long so Wonderfalls sounded like it fit the bill.
Now I'm regretting that choice a bit. It was surprisingly actually good, it would have been perfect if it sucked but since I enjoyed it so... read more

Ignoring the one dimensional characters who are there simply to spout "witty" lines or to act as strawmen or comic foils for Jaye, and ignoring the good premise/plot being repeated basically each episode - Jaye receives a cryptic message misinterprets it causing a minor problem which later turns out to be a good thing - the show is quite enjoyable with visual tricks and a fast pac... read more
Ignoring the one dimensional characters who are there simply to spout "witty" lines or to act as strawmen or comic foils for Jaye, and ignoring the good premise/plot being repeated basically each episode - Jaye receives a cryptic message misinterprets it causing a minor problem which later turns out to be a good thing - the show is quite enjoyable with visual tricks and a fast pace
BUT the series lacked any depth and just comes across as some teen girl wish fulfilment series -"I am lonely (despite being good looking and having lots of former boyfriends) and the hunk and I are destined to be together - anyone else in the way is a bitch or an obstacle...people love me for my unique style and my adventurous spontaneous nature"
"Just started to watch this from 18/3/2013
Ep 1 - Unaired pilot/Wax Lion --- essentially there is very little difference between these
Ok this series starts interestingly with cutesy tricks to draw you in - the basic premise is a young woman Jaye, has to follow the instructions she is given by inanimate objects to stop their voices in her head, at the same time she has to deal with her quirky family being an underachiever in a family of successes
A bumpy start as its hard to relate to the cent"

"Jaye gets taunted my inanimate animals to give destiny a helping hand. She works at a souvenir store in Niagara Falls and lives in a trailer. She has a closet lesbian sister and a brother with a theology degree who doesn't believe in God. Caroline Dhavernas may not be a well known actress, but she played a sarcastic underachiever with delightful charm.

In each episode, the creatures' cryptic messages set into motion a chain of unpredictable events that invariably lead Jaye into the lives of others in need. Throughout the series' bizarre situ"

""You've gotta choose people who aren't much more motivated than you are — but don't surround yourself with total narcissists. Otherwise, things start to be about something other than you."
"Look at me: I'm 24 and I've never done anything. I have a worthless philosophy degree that's gotten me no further than a dead-end retail job working for a mouth-breather so I can continue to support my trailer park lifestyle. Do you think I sit around feeling sorry for myself?"
"I'm trying to save him"
