Fist viewing was in 1994 and I was 12. It scared the life out of me. I can say this tv movie is the grand father of horror movies that followed during the '00. Stephen King was way ahead of today's horror-metapocalypse movies.

Top 10: Stephen King - The Screen (39 movies items)

" My favorite King novel makes it at #6 as a film, or to be more precise, as a mini-series. Well done, and you couldn't ask for better from your cast. Gary Sinise and Rob Lowe shine in their roles!"

Stephen King: The Man, The Myth, The Miniseries (10 tv items)

"The Stand had a large cast and pretty expansive story. Many actors like Miguel Ferrer, Ed Harris, Matt Frewer, Ruby Dee, Gary Sinise, Rob Lowe, Jamey Sheridan, and Molly Ringwald starred. There are some pretty memorable performances as well, from Ruby Dee playing Mother Abigail, to Jamey Sheridan as Randall Flagg. My favorite performance is Laura San Giacomo as the tortured and unstable Nadine Cross. "

October 2012 Horrorfest (34 movies items)

"First viewing - Oct. 15th-22nd - DVD from phillydude's collection This is 3/4 of a really good movie. Unfortunately the final 1/4 wound up being rather disappointing. Overall The Stand kept me guessing right up to the end, which earned points in its favor. Also most of the cast does an excellent job in their roles, and it was nice to see some actors I'd somewhat forgotten (like Laura San Giacomo & the big guy from Coach). The effects are mostly cheesy, which seems to be par for the course as fa"
