Fist viewing was in 1994 and I was 12. It scared the life out of me. I can say this tv movie is the grand father of horror movies that followed during the '00. Stephen King was way ahead of today's horror-metapocalypse movies.

My favorite King novel makes it at #6 as a film, or to be more precise, as a mini-series. Well done, and you couldn't ask for better from your cast. Gary Sinise and Rob Lowe shine in their roles!"

"The Stand had a large cast and pretty expansive story. Many actors like Miguel Ferrer, Ed Harris, Matt Frewer, Ruby Dee, Gary Sinise, Rob Lowe, Jamey Sheridan, and Molly Ringwald starred. There are some pretty memorable performances as well, from Ruby Dee playing Mother Abigail, to Jamey Sheridan as Randall Flagg. My favorite performance is Laura San Giacomo as the tortured and unstable Nadine Cross.

Also most of the cast does an excellent job in their roles, and it was nice to see some actors I'd somewhat forgotten (like Laura San Giacomo & the big guy from Coach). The effects are mostly cheesy, which seems to be par for the course as fa"

"When we came on this trip, we put our lives in the hands of Mother Abagail's God. Now, that hasn't changed - If He wants me to eat He'll send food, If He wants me to drink He'll send rain - It's His business, yours is to go against Flagg - Now, you've got to do that, and you've got to go without me." - Stu Redman
