Scary Road Trip!

(A review of Supernatural)Two brothers travel across America to hunt and destroy all manner of evil. The writing is excellent and the visuals make for scary viewing. On a weekly basis I end up having to cover my eyes in anticipation of some ghoul coming from nowhere.
The relationship between the two brothers - sibling rivalry mixed with deep regard for one another, is the anchor of the show. Though at times Jared Padalecki, playing the younger brother, Sam, gets on my nerves. Jensen Ackles as Dean has some of the funniest lines and the fact that his music tastes are stuck firmly in the 80s - cassette tapes anyone, just adds to his charm.
Each brother handles the mantle of responsibility differently but it's clear that they would go to great lengths for one another.
Supernatural is a great blend of scares, humor and drama.

(A review of Supernatural)Love this show if only to drool over the extremely fit Jensen Ackles!! Seriously, the show is excellent. I look forward to the next series.

(A review of Supernatural)Two brothers, Sam and Dean (Jared Padalecki and Jensen Ackles respectively), search for their father, who left on a demon-hunting trip and has been missing for a few days. All through the first season, the two brothers kill off demons, face ghosts and hear horrific legends, while on the trail of their father and the demon that killed their mother and Sam's girlfriend Jessica.
While I agree with Jessica's review, I unfortunately found the show very repetitive. How many times can they kill off demons and ghosts and supernatural beings? I know that's what the show is about, but frankly, there was no originality in any episodes after the first lot.
As for the acting: Yes, Jared Padalecki got on my nerves too. But both characters are, to be honest, obnoxious.
Did I just read there is a second season? That's surprising, considering the first season finale - which I just saw on dvd. I certainly didn't expect another season with *that* ending. In any case, I am not desperate to watch the second season.
Don't misunderstand me; this is an enjoyable show - if you can get past the obnoxious characters, and unoriginal scenarios.

(A review of Supernatural)Having just seen the second season finale last night---I have to say, I still enjoy this show as much as I have from the very start.
This show has strong writing, excellent casting (despite Jared Padalecki, who really gets on my nerves a lot on this show), great acting and dialogue...and I love the look of the show (and the fact that it is shot over in Vancouver...and you can occasionally see Vancouver street signs in what are supposed to be mid-western American cities).
The show is witty, serious, fun, and has a lot of suspense that is carried out really well. This show also has some great music in every episode. I love this show, which started off with a strong first season, and did not disappoint when it came back for the second season.
I am definitely looking forward to the promised third season, and cannot wait to see what happens next.
