One of the best teen dramas on TV at the time, Roswell focused on the story of a group of teens in a small town.

Liz's life changes the day she gets shot in the diner she works at. Admist the chaos, Max, a boy she goes to school with, manages to heal her. Now she knows that he's not your ordinary teenage boy. Soon Liz and her friends learn that he, his sister Isabel, their friend Michael, and a new girl at the school, Tess, are all from another planet.

While it sounds like it could be extremely campy, Roswell was (as mentioned above) one of the best teen dramas on TV at the time. It dealt with all the stuff normal teens deal with - fitting in with your peers, falling in love, getting through high school unscathed. It felt real, there was fabulous character development throughout the series (both for the teenage characters and the adults) and rarely a dull moment (as to be expected from a television show about aliens).

This show was cancelled well before it should have been.
