A gorgeous adaptation of Jane Austen's classic, Pride & Prejudice sets the standard for period dramas. Excellent acting, direction, costumes and set pieces - they left nothing to chance. Colin Firth is brilliant as Darcy in his pre-stardom days. The rest of the cast is brilliant as well.

I finally got to watch this version all the way through this weekend. I've always seen it as the ultimate of the Jane Austen Novel-to-movie translations. I do love the 90's Sense and Sensibility translation, but this one is far and away beyond that. 2017 - TV Show Diary (6 tv items)

"Yes, of course, Colin Firth is a perfect Darcy, but Ms. Ehle is not a great Lizzy, and Adrian Lukis (Wickam) is so weak. The series is a so-so illustrated picture book of the original novel, nothing more, nothing less."

" LAST WATCHED: 2/26/2017     COMMENTS: One of my top five favorite "movies" of all time. It's so faithful to the source material, tossing in a little bit extra for good measure (Hello!
