"This anime has a lot going for it. The characters are loveable and the way side characters are introduced fits so well into the overall topic that it is a true delight. The "world", tied to the Japanese believe system of shrines and ghosts is wonderfully creative.
Unfortunately it is an episodic anime and the "red thread" is really interesting but evolves very very slowly. This does not enable it to get into a really deep storyline, but if you are looking for an episodic anime that you watch on"
"This series is not yet listed in the IMDB or Listal database.Natsume Yuujinchou Shi (Season 4)
Status: Finished Airing
Same pace and atmosphere as the other seasons and not one bit inferior to them. This series could go on forever and would never get boring.
I cried and was moved as much as before. The melancholy was even stronger in this season which made it even a slight bit more tragic as well as beautiful than 'San'. (Season 3). Unfortunately no signs for another season were given...:( Nooo"

(Takashi Natsume & Kaname Tanuma)
The classic gakuran is still my favourite among all the extraordinary ones. You come across it in almost every anime series and yet it never gets boring. Being so plain and simple it gives every character a certain coolness and not to forget makes him sexy. ;)"

Also an all-time favourite, yet rather in the category of moving and melancholic Slice of Life. Almost every episode of Natsume Yuujinchou brought tears to my eyes. It has perfected the ability to bring across feelings, atmosphere and beauty. The characters are down-to-earth, cute and funny and the music...oh my, the music is something I could lose myself in forever. If I could live in another place I would choose the universe of Natsume and company."

"The most consistently melancholic and emotional series I've watched so far. Only after a few episodes I was completely captivated by the beautiful and (mostly) peaceful atmosphere and the humane characters going through their daily lives. Nyanko-sensei always delivers some light comedy but in the end an episode left me close to tears after all. In a positive way. The music by composing genius Makoto Yoshimori is so wonderful and dreamlike and couldn't have been made any better. If there was one "
