Match of the Day is one of Britain's most defining tv programs. Without it man would just not have had anything to do or look forward to each week. But that is what adds to its charm, you are so used to them that they have become part of watching football. If a game is on another channel you begin to question their way of doing things, their commentator hasn't said anything stupid in half an hour! The host hasn't tried to make me laugh once, and i dont feel angry! It is the best thing on tele during a world cup, although that is only because Fantasy Football has not been on for a few years now. The footballing flagship. There were once dark days when the BBC decided to pull MOTD in favour of a new Sunday morning programme. That decision forced former MOTD supremo Des Lynam to convert to ITV and permanently lose his cool stereotype.

Fairly professional punditry and quality replays of the highlights from the days games, Match of the Day is a staple British institution on a Saturday night, and whoever else ever has the idea to take it off the air should immediately lose their job.
