Doesn't Matter How it Ends

Posted : 6 days, 18 hours ago on 30 December 2009 01:12 (A review of Lost)

Doesn't matter how it ends, it'll still be remembered as one of the best Sci-fi TV series of all time. Who knew audiences were intelligent enough for this much mystery, character development, and intertextuality. I'm not sure how it will hold up on re-watching, especially the first two seasons, and I'm not sure I'm willing to commit the time. But watching this every week with friends, gasping at the end of virtually every episode and discussing it non-stop for years... completely worth it.

Amazing Show

When I first heard about 'Lost' I almost instantly decided to start ripping on the show's concept. Unfortunately I ended up ripping on the show for five years (the show is on it's fifth season now) and decided to finally actually sit down and watch an episode. About half way through the first episode I was already hooked deeply into the story. Currently I'm almost caught up to the beginning of season five and will have about 16 episodes or so to watch after I start season five (currently on episode 409). Defiantely a must see.

Lost review

I'm always surprised how much fun it is so rewatch Lost episodes. I thought the show was mainly about waiting to find out what's going to happen next, and while that IS a lot of it, it's still a lot of fun to rewatch the great moments in this show. One to add to the DVD collection :)

Lost no longer!

Ive watched this series from the beginning and while I admit the plot had worn a little thin series 3 and 4 have had me hooked once more. A few questions are now being answered and I cant wait for the next season. Is John Locke really dead?? I hope not as he is an integral part of the story. Hmm!

Lost in Lost

Posted : 1 year, 9 months ago on 16 March 2008 07:19 (A review of Lost)

I really loved this series when it first began, it was clear that the production values were astronomic, and such use of a mixture of parallel, non linear and linear storylines was unprecedented in television.

Lost really raised the bar in terms of what was expected from this medium. At this moment in time the plot is still unclear, and the level of character development is beyond deep. Every new episode raises further questions and the relationships between the characters becomes more and more of a complex nexus.

But aye, there's the rub.

All these questions and very little resolution are making the series a little wearing now. Lost breaks so many conventions, it has become difficult for anyone but a savant to follow. The loss of Charlie in the last series means there are now no longer the moments of comic relief that gave the mind time to stop and process the episode.

I've not given up on Lost yet, and still like it..but am becoming more and more aggravated by it and will soon lose interest if some sort of resolution isn't found.

Insane

Lost is quite possibly the most insane, random, off the wall show ever made. At first glance its a show about a group of people who all survive a plane crash and find they are stranded on an Island in the middle of the ocean. Seems straight forward enough i thought, its bound to show their daily lives and how they go about surviving and trying to get home. That isn't even the half of it!
First off theres the island monster. A roaring mechanical sound that comes from the jungle once in a while, striking horror in the hearts of the survivors. Then there is the hatch, the mysterious door in the ground with numbers on it, not just any numbers, THE numbers, the same numbers that appear in almost every episode, the numbers which one of the main characters happens to have seen before, off the island in his old life, a lot! In fact he won the lottery with them and has been cursed since.
All the characters have intertwined pasts and their lives are far more connected than they first knew.
This doesn't even begin to scratch the surface of Lost, there is so much going on, so much to take interest in, and far too much to take in all at once.
If you are new to Lost, try and watch as many episodes in one go as you can, it makes things connect far better, although it is probably more of a challange to say "Try and watch one episode a week" You wont, its not possible if you have more than one available!! This is a show that leaves you wanting to know more every episode, it is not for the impatient or the slow minded, you need to think when you watch it, you need to remember, and speculate. If you are incapable of thought, you wont like Lost.

What genre is this?

Is this sci-fi, fantasy, psychadelia or just a plain drama? I'm going to wait till it ends before I pass judgement. Right now, I'm just enjoying it.

Do you believe?

I've watched this show since the beginning. I'm invested now and I just wanna see how it ends.

It may be confusing and lead you on but it has enough coverage in the media and contraversy to keep the viewership up.

I can see how it pisses people off. That it is too mainstream for the niches but not every show is meant for everyone.
