Reviews of House M.D.

Shut up and bring me a sandwich

Haha. <3

Funny and provocative - for a while

Posted : 7 months, 4 weeks ago on 23 April 2009 05:17 (A review of House M.D.)

House is a blast. He's mean, he's direct, he doesn't seem to like anyone nor does he have to. He's a genious who solves EVERY case you could possibly throw at him - you know each and every time that this guy scores it. Not his collegues, but him. It's always him.

This routine covers every episode of the show. No, serisouly, it does. From the beginning right to the end credits, you know how exactly all of this is going to play out - some weird disease, some funny dialogs between characters, some weird patient of House's, more of that weird disease, "What IS this, what COULD it be? Let's do tests" and in the end when the patient is having a bunch of near death experiences, House gets in the way with some nifty solution he discovered while picking his toe hair from his coffee. Patient saved, end credits follow.

It gets pretty old after a few episodes. Can't believe they've made so many seasons of this same weird-funny-mean-deep-inside-warm-old-genious -stuff.

For the while it lasts, it's all good.

House M.D. review

In fact, one of the most addicting series.
It sticks you to the screen from over a night; the story is involving and you keep wanting to know what interesting - also odd - illness will come next and what will happen to Doctor Houses's life both. It's very original, the actors are great and the director is obviously a genious.
From 0 to 10 I'd give 10.

House M.D

House is a really good medical TV show with a twist. The main character House (Hugh Laurie) really drives the show along with his wry sense of humour always making a bad situation feel better for himself, but not necessarily the others around him. Although House is the central character his supporting cast all perform very well involving you in the storeys surrounding them.

A funny show with a serious side and good actors House is one of the best shows around on TV today.

Hugh Laurie is...ENGLISH?!

Oh how millions of Americans choked on their fries and donuts when they realised that the amazing Dr House was in fact played by one of the most British people on the face of the planet. I found myself checking his past just to make sure i wasn't deluding myself, is this REALLY the same man who played a buffoon prince in Black Adder?! Surely Not?
House is a fantastic show about a Dr with amazing diagnostic abilities, but quite possibly the worst (or maybe best?) people skills on the planet. His brilliance allows him to behave with nothing but arrogance, a character trait few people can actually pull off in real life. Each episode starts with a random member of the public falling down with a random illness, its usually not the person you expect to get ill but some bystander. Of course its never something easy to figure out, and thus House is called in to solve the case. This usually involves an abundance of tests, very cool computer graphics of peoples insides in motion, a lot of hilarity, and eventually a brilliant conclusion. House is thought provoking, funny, intriguing and thrilling to watch. Its like a "who done it" in medical terms, and House is your Colombo.
I've yet to meet a person alive who does not enjoy House!

Best of the angry doctors

Recent years have seen a trend of quirky grumpy doctor shows starting with Ted Danson in Becker, the english program Dr Marten and this one staring English comedian Hugh Laurie as a fairly convincing but insane American. Dr. House in my humble opinion is a brilliantly performed and written character and a much needed bit of uniqueness even if the premiss is not.

next, on house...

Someone gets sick in a really weird way, and only Dr. House and his team can figure it out.

Maybe that's close to the plot line in a lot of the episodes, but I still get sucked in and watch it. There's more to the show than that too, including his "issue" with pain meds and the relationships he's built and tore down. Great to watch and try to figure out.
