Sci-fi series masterclass

Some of the finest sci-fi series I've seen come from the Japanese animation studios. The producers and writers focus on creating something that is more than simply an action series, a problem that plagues too many sci-fi series. Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex is one of the best examples. It's a potent and provocative mix of action, philosophy, politics, futurism, war, sociology along with... read more

Great action sequences but the philosophy and politics don't make sense to me if only because i cant think as fast as they talk. Also i cant sympathize with ppl who put their brains in a robot and could be stuck in virtual reality. No wait i cant watch a show that could all be a virtual reality.

If you like sci fi at all, this show is for you. the idea of everyone slowly changing into cyborg, and riding the fine line between what defines being human and what is artificial.

"For its style and overall just good quality I put it up here. I was initially interested in it because I read it's a good example of the "postcyberpunk" genre, and now I feel I understand that term better. Definitely a good show: great visuals, interesting voice acting, and in a category of its own, I think. Still, something about the show feels a bit sterile/lacking (though that may be the genre), and there was one character I really didn't like very much."

However, criminals can also make full use of such technology, leading to new and sometimes, very dangerous crimes. In response to such innovative new methods, the Japanese Government has established Section 9, an independently operating police unit whi"
