I can truly say that this is one of the best animes of all. The main caracter, Hei, is one of the greatest anime caracters of all time. Totally in love. Sadness, mystery, action, love, and everything in between. I'm sure this is one of the animes I'll watch ovr and over for a long time.

Animation, setting, action characters are all great but more then half of the time i really couldn't enjoy the drama and story. Well, some of the characters are horrible as some character's personal insanity/stupidity drives all the bad drama.

"Darker than Black is set in Japan, in a world where people live in fear of mysterious people called Contractors. Contractors are devoid of all emotion, they are very rational and only live for themselves. Despite their existence being largely kept a secret, they are best known for the mysterious powers each of them has. Using these powers however comes at a price, which the Contractor is compelled to pay each time the powers are used. The story follows Hei, a Contractor undertaking assassination"

My Anime Journal of 2016 (13 tv items)

"Number of episodes: 25+1 Jazzy music in anime, I love it. Reminds me I need to watch Cowboy Bebop. With exception of Fate Zero, this is the only anime on this list, so far, that has an actual adult as a protagonist and is in no way set in high school. Boy is that refreshing. It has great characters, excellent story and animation. It's told in a two episode story arcs which are seemingly unconnected at first by anything other than the main characters and the syndicate, but given time the importa"
