Reviews of CSI: NYCSI: NY review
The CSI shows could very easily be compared to English football teams. You have the original CSI with all it's regular professionalism and class, that's clearly the Arsenal of the group. Then there is CSI: Miami which hams it up at every opportunity and never misses an opportunity to be flamboyant - the lab manager is a farce, they're clearly the Manchester United of things. Then there is CSI: NY which has all the potential to be good, but hasn't quite reached the echelons of greatness yet, mainly due to the bland skills of the staff and questionable manager there. They're definitely Chelsea under Avram. CSI: NY manages to sidestep the landmine of glamour and farce that blew Miami out of the water and deliver a generally much more down to earth programme. Despite being arguably the most famous of the lab chiefs, I actually don't really like Gary Sinise's character. I'm not sure why, I just don't think he's believable. The less said about Stella the better, I actually think they're the weakest cast members in the entire show, which is a bit of a shame considering they're the two chief characters. On the flip side there are legends like Flack and Danny who are pretty much the only reason I choose to tune in when it's on. The city of NY is pretty much a hotbed of crime and if they can get a few more entertaining cases and drop Stella into a vat of spikes (I think Sinise will grow on me) then it will turn into a show that might just hold a candle against the original. Oh and it would be nice if they stopped turning the cast into something from Die Hard at the end of every series. They're scientists, not SWAT! 0 comments, Reply to this entry
