CSI: Miami (2002)

Alright, so I will admit that it's cheesy. Very, very cheesy. And I can see why there are people who cannot stand this show, but for me, the complete cheesiness and o! the drama is exactly why I love this show. It's just fun(ny) TV. Besides, I'm a sucker for the puns that there's a multitude of in all of the CSIs. :)

I came on here to let the world know how bad CSI: Miami is...but the two reviews below said everything I wanted to and more. Ham acting, bad casting, outrageous accents, unlikable characters. I love the original CSI series, and really can't fault it; I however saw a CSI / CSI: Miami cross over the other day. Catherine and the crew follow a murderer to Miami. The Miami crew managed to bring down the entire episode..not even Grissom, the pillar of respectability could hold the episode together. I was also surprised at how less orange the episode was, for once it didn’t burn my retinas. The original CSI crew must have demanded that; first and foremost, they're going to wipe all the marmalade off of the camera lenses. The previous review is utterly unbeatable, but as a new comer to the series, I thought I'd throw in my 2 pence as well. From the off I couldn't believe the completely overblown attempt at making Horatio an edgy and intriguing character. At times he reminds me of someone with a mild form of mental illness, rather than a CSI at the top of his profession. The way he skulks around a crime scene and delivers some of the most outrageous and predictable jokes...it's just amazing that they get away with it. Add in the fact that Emily Proctor has no vocal tone other than 'patronising bitch', the crazy woman in the morgue, her unhealthy obsession with the corpses and the fact that she often misses the most obvious injuries sustained by the 'vic' until later in the episode and Rodriguez, the huge...Read more

The acclaimed CSI series went south (figuratively) with the addition of Miami. David Caruso may have resurrected his career with a high weekly Nielsen rating, but that does not account for his ridiculous overacting and dramatic postures. As for the rest of the cast, Calleigh (Emily Procter) may be one of the worst actresses on television and "Mr Wolfe" (in David Caruso's voice) is a pathetic clone of the original series' fun loving Greg Sanders (Eric Szmanda). The newest addition, mole-turned-CSI Natalia Boa Vista (Eva La Rue) is so awful, she makes Emily Procter look like an Oscar winner. Aside from the cast, another grievance is when each CSI feels the need to explain their "techniques" to each other as a way for the audience to understand what is going on.
