Events in After Story take place immediately after the first season, following Tomoya's final semester of high school. After declaring his love to Nagisa, they begin to have a close relationship. Their life together will be faced with unexpected challenges, as the truth behind the illusionary world and the city's legend come to light.

"Clannad: After Story was the 2nd anime I saw, and what an excellent 2nd anime it was. The first season which offered mediocre comedy, sadness and enjoyment, built up by 4 average stories about the side characters, suddenly grew so much and became this masterpiece of perfection.
No other anime will bring emotions like After Story and you will never feel the same way again.

"A beautifully animated and told story of romance and tragedy. There are not many shows/movies that can make you feel the emotion that this show can make you feel. The first season was not my thing, but After Story is something special.

"Clannad After Story could change your life. In just five days, it changed mine. It made me look at life in a new way. Never in my life have I ever shed so many tears while watching a show or a movie in the theater or on TV. I shed tears of joy and tears of sorrow. This anime tugs at your heartstrings so hard, that it’s almost inhumane not to cry. Clannad: AS will rip your heart out and then mend it with sweet words of love and then rip it out again.
