Description:Citizen X is a made-for-TV movie, released in 1995, which gives a fictionalised account of the Ukrainian serial killer Andrei Chikatilo, who was convicted of killing 52 women and children, and the efforts of detectives in the Soviet Union to capture him.

As well as being a crime thriller, the movie depicts Soviet propaganda and bureaucracy contributing to the failure to capture Chikatilo; his crimes were not widely reported for fear of revealing that such things ever occurred in the USSR.
The movie was entirely shot in Hungary. The station where Chikatilo picks his victims is the Hatvan railway station, northeast of Budapest. The smaller, arched train shelter scene was shot in Nagymaros. Several other scenes were also shot in the Gödöllő Royal Palace.... (more)(less)

"its a hbo tv movie about the ukrainian serial killer andrei chikilo. Its relatively unknown and probably didnt have a the greatest budget. But it delivers and the acting and the direction is suprisingly good. all thought the video quality was not the greatest, but that might just be my copy. Top that with a thrilling and interesting story and you got a pretty good movie.

"Terrific made-for-TV movie about the infamous Russian serial killer, Andrei Chikatilo. Stephen Rea, Donald Sutherland, and Max Von Sydow make up part of the cast cause I mean with a movie like this it seems like those guys just have to be in it.
