Description

A school teacher confides to a new colleague the history of her family's genuine Dutch Vermeer painting. In flashbacks within flashbacks, the 300 year story of the painting is shown with the people whose lives it touched. The climactic scenes are during the Holocaust, when her father, now ill, was a Nazi and stole the artwork.
