One of the best programs I have seen as a child. Really taught me science in the most interesting way. Bill Nye's my hero!

Comedian/scientist Bill Nye stars as the host of this show designed to get kids interested in the science of everyday, and some not-so- everyday, things. On a full range of subjects, including ecology, biology, chemistry and physics, Nye gives an easy-to-understand, yet informative lesson that both kids and their parents can enjoy.

Bowties Are Cool (37 movies items)

"Quite a few scientists in Real Life also wear bowties because they can't fall into beakers or chemical spills like regular neckties can. No doubt Bill was just going for the Adorkable look, though. "

Iconic and Memorable Roles: TV part III (51 tv items)

"Bill Nye as Bill Nye the Science Guy Bill Nye was actually a local (Seattle) comedian and part of a comedy show called "Almost Live" which aired in Washington in the late 80's and early 90's. So when I first saw "Bill Nye, the Science Guy" I said 'what the hell is he doing on a science show? Isn't that Speed Walker?' Just watch it. Then you'll know what I mean. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4e6h4zLC5U8"

References to The Smiths/Morrissey in media (13 tv items)

"Bill Nye the Science Guy commonly had parodies of music artists and songs themed after scientific concept being discussed. On the "Momentum" episode, he parodied "The More You Ignore Me, The Closer I Get" with "The Faster You Push Me" by Momentisey. "
