I think the best thing about this sword-fantasy anime show was that the episodes were only 20-minutes, so keeping interest was not that hard and the characters were, well, not that deep, but interesting enough and much to my liking pretty dark ones at times too (most notably the silver-haired Griffith, who I started liking more and more towards the end) - although sometimes there were moments which were a bit too sentimental to my taste and the romance at the "

There should have been more of this, it's too amazing to have only one season. A thought provoking and touching show with some good humor and characters you really get attached to (and in such a short time, only 25 20-minute episodes).
And the soundtrack is pure gold."
"My take: If your into action pack animes, then this is a must watch anime. Warning anime is incomplete! Also, the English Dub is decent to watch too.

"Berserk: The badass medieval anime about Guts the swordsman. His journey starts early on with joining a mercenary group called "The Hawks" and meeting Griffith, another important character. In the series we will see Guts helping Griffith achieving his dream about ruling the world.
One of the reasons for Berserk's high spot on this list would be the incredible, unbeatable atmosphere. The soundtracks, visual surroundings, the dialogues etc. really succeeds in creating a rather dark and grim show,"

"Great anime full of medieval battles, plot twists and most importantly great character development. Has the perfect atmosphere and OST for the plot. Its one of my favourites of all time."
"I haven't seen a particularly memorable sad scene in an anime until I saw Berserk.
Besides the huge ass sword and badass action, this anime banks a lot on emotional character development too and so, my choice for the saddest anime scene goes to the final episode of the anime in which a most painful betrayal happens.
Seeing all the lovable Hawk members killed certainly was sad but the saddest scene for me was, as expected, the very last one.
