"Nominated by the giraffe
A tragically short-lived Dallas band in a similar vein as Jane's Addiction and The Flaming Lips, their albums were a beautiful mix of psychedelia, punk, and pop (though not the crappy pop that plagues the radio). Their live shows were Amazing and always left me with a big smile on my face for a long time afterwards (and I saw them so many times they eventually gave me a permanent spot on their guest list). More importantly their albums got progressively better over time"
"Day 14 - A band you miss the most
I miss them because their music always made me happy. I miss them because their live shows were some of the most fun I ever attended. I miss them because I saw them so many times that we wound up becoming friends. And I miss them because the death of guitarist Wes Berggren forced them to break up long before their creativity ran out."
"I was at a CD release for another Dallas band when vocalist Tim Delaughter first talked to me because he recognized me from seeing me at shows in the Dallas/Ft. Worth area. I eventually became such good friends with the entire band that I earned a permanent spot on their guest list."
"One of the most underrated bands ever, Tripping Daisy always put on amazing shows. Interesting visuals, great sound, and enthusiastic performances that left me smiling for hours afterward. Tripping Daisy shows were always a great time all around, and I deeply miss them."
