An American singer-songwriter, prominent in the women's music scene.
Fure started her career as a backing vocalist and session musician on rock albums by Spencer Davis ('Mousetrap') and Little Feat, and released her self-titled solo debut album in 1973 on MCA Records (produced by Lowell George and featuring Bonnie Raitt).
She subsequently left the mainstream music industry, writing and performing as an independent folk artist and working as a staff producer and recording engineer for Olivia Records.
Fure released her first independent album 'Terminal Hold' in 1984 on Second Wave Records, the new rock label of Oliver Records. This was followed by two further solo albums: 'Edges of the Heart (1986) and 'Time Turns the Moon' (1990)
Between 1982 and 2000, Fure was the professional and personal partner of Cris Williamson, with whom she collaborated on three albums: 'Postcards From Paradise' (1993), 'Between The Covers' (1996) and 'Radio Quiet' (1999).
Fure now records and tours as a solo artist. She founded her own record label Tomboy Girl Records and she also sells a clothing range under the name Tomboy Girl. Her recent solo albums are: 'Back Home' (2001), 'My Shoes' (2003), 'Anytime, Anywhere' (2005), 'True Compass' (2007) and 'The Horizon' (2010).
