Artists showing up more than once under different names

For example I have the Rolling Stones listing as 'Rolling Stones' and 'The Rolling Stones'! Where therefore they are listing with two items each instead of 4 items as I would want.

Is there a way we can edit author Titles or alias them so they list together?

I have the same problem with Prince but as he has gone under countless names including unwritable symbols I'm more sympathetic!

It is the same with authors too where for example I have Alighieri Dante and Dante Alighieri listed as two authors.

Any ideas welcome.
