Greatest Love Poems On Songs (24 person items)
"I'll Be Your Mirror
I'll be your mirror
Reflect what you are, in case you don't know
I'll be the wind, the rain and the sunset
The light on your door to show that you're home
When you think the night has seen your mind
That inside you're twisted and unkind
Let me stand to show that you are blind
Please put down your hands
'Cause I see you
I find it hard to believe you don't know
The beauty that you are
But if you don't let me be your eyes
A hand in your darkness, so you won't be a"

"Standing on a corner
Suitcase in my hand
Jack's in his corset, Jane is in her vest
And me, I'm in a Rock 'n' Roll band - Sweet Jane
Candy says I've come to hate my body
And all that it requires in this world
Candy says I'd like to know completely
What others so discreetly talk about - Candy Says
Just look into her false colored eyes
She builds you up to just put you down - Femme Fatale

Bands/artists I respect but don't like (14 person items)
"Why I respect them: Influenced too many bands I like (and many I don't like) to name, plus Lou Reed is mostly awesome.
Why I don't like them: The older I get I'm finding myself bored by the majority of their songs. Sure their music is original enough, but the songs tend to meander aimlessly and cease to be interesting long before they've ended. I still like a small number of their songs, but trying to get through their albums is too unpleasant to attempt anymore."

Let there be Punk... (10 person items)
"The band that personified the attitude "fuck it, I don't care". In the Andy Warhol's Factory, where the junkies used to spend their time in the 60s, the music that rocked their habitat was the Velvet Underground's songs.
In a time where only bands like The Beatles made success, a band like the The Velvet Underground was not really accepted. They failed commercialy, but nowadays they are a cult band, and their importance in rock history is properly recognized.

The Immortals (100 person items)
""Listening to those four studio albums now is like reading a good book that takes place in a distant time. When I hear The Velvet Underground and Nico or Loaded, I feel like I'm in Andy Warhol's Factory in the 1960s or hanging out at Max's Kansas City. The way Lou Reed wrote and sang about drugs and sex, about the people around him -- it was so matter-of-fact. I believed every word of "Heroin." Reed could be romantic in the way he portrayed these crazy situations, but he was also intensely real."
