Movie reviews by EveryoneMichael Clayton reviewThis is really one of those movies that makes you go "What? What's all the fuss about?" It really is "just another lawyer movie" with a "go green!" conscience. It might have a far more entertaining movie if it hadn't been for the execution. It's almost as if someone took the plot, chopped it up into tiny pieces and threw them up into the air. Wherever the scenes landed, that's the order they were sequenced. I don't mind a plot being revealed in layers but for the majority of this movie you spend your time wondering who the hell everyone is, what's their relation, and why the hell is this long and useless scene important? (Seriously? Clooney in an elevator for two minutes?) The ending definitely brings it all together... but for the first two hours you're so confused that it's just irritating. That isn't entertainment, regardless of whatever message the movie is trying to put across. 0 comments, Reply to this entry
The FirstThis was the first movie I got addicted with thanks to my sis. The director, Hayao Miyazaki directed a lot of movies and this is my favorite. I dunno why maybe because I used to watch this with everyone all the time. My friends, family, anyone! I watch this movie like very day! Well I dont but I do watch it often. When I watch it alone my sisters get all worried and try to make me happy. i dunno why but then again I never watch this movie without anyone so *shrugs* 0 comments, Reply to this entry
0 comments, Reply to this entry

Lower City reviewNão esperava muito de Cidade Baixa, apesar de acreditar fielmente no elenco maravilhoso. Foi uma ótima surpresa! 0 comments, Reply to this entry
Love Me Forever or Never reviewUm de meus prediletos. Recomendo. 0 comments, Reply to this entry
0 comments, Reply to this entry

He lives! They Live is another cult favourite from sci-fi supremo John Carpenter. Based on the short story Eight O’Clock in the Morning by Ray Nelson, They Live follows a homeless labourer who has drifted into Los Angeles in the search for work. Set in a future where the divide between the rich and the poor is exacerbating at an extraordinary rate, unemployment and homelessness are common place. Finding temporary residence in a shanty town he soon stumbles on some seedy goings on in the local church who are scheming under the façade of a soup kitchen. Before the protagonist has a chance to investigate, the church is raided by the brutal police force who soon turn their attentions to the rest of the shanty town settlement, bulldozing everything in their path. It is not long before he finds out what all the fuss is about with a pair of sunglasses which have the extraordinary ability to reveal the chilling subliminal messages which litter every advertisement and packaging label in the city. More importantly, the sunglasses give the wearer the ability to witness a horrific alien race who have seemingly integrated secretly into human society. It is not long before the previously calm and optimistic construction worker turns renegade in a bid to oust this vile scum from his planet! Cue some extremely memorable lines and a series of wild encounters with the totalitarian police force and various haphazard security forces and you have a thoroughly entertaining 80's action film that never fails to deliver. John Carpenter, what a legend! 0 comments, Reply to this entry
excellentThe story of an oilman, Daniel Plainview. Splendid performances by Daniel-Day Lewis and Paul Dano, who is very convincing as a preacher. Beautiful cinematography by Robert Elswit. My hats off to the producers, who took a risk in producing this film, and to the scriptwriters who did outstanding work in adapting the book Oil by Upton Sinclair. I certainly didn't expect this film to be this excellent. Recommended viewing to all. 0 comments, Reply to this entry
