Online gameplay added to the fun

Posted : 2 months ago on 23 May 2008 03:21 (A review of Mario Kart Wii)

The gameplay of Mario Kart for the Wii is eerily similar to Mario Kart 64, which I loved. So it stands to reason that I love the latest game in the series too. The game looks great, all the elements are more polished and colourful. There are plenty of new tracks and vehicles. This is an excellent addition to this excellent series of games.

The strength of this game still lies in the gameplay, not technical virtuosity. The killer addition is online gameplay. Nintendo got this one absolutely right, again.

The only thing I don't like is the power up strategy. Basically, the further up the field you are, the worse power ups you get. The best ones are reserved for people lower down. It keeps the field competitive and is great if you're trying to come from behind but the flip side is that you can go from first to sixth or seventh in a matter of seconds. Still, it's about the only quibble I have after putting in some 50 hours of gameplay.

Elephants with Diabetes im Serious

Posted : 2 months ago on 22 May 2008 05:59 (A review of Packy and Marlon)

This was from a website just to give you more information and more detail into the game

"A side-scrolling adventure game that helps children and teens with diabetes improve their diabetes self-management. Rats and mice invaded diabetes summer camp and scattered all the food and diabetes supplies throughout the woods, lakes, mountains, playgrounds, and haunted cabins. Packy and Marlon are diabetic elephants who thwart the invaders and find all the missing supplies. To stay in good shape during four simulated days, players must keep their character's diabetes under control by measuring and monitoring blood glucose, taking insulin, selecting a balanced diet in three meals and three snacks a day, and handling diabetes emergencies."

As for what I think the game is very slow and what you have to do is get food such as breakfast and find it there is bits of it all around the level. Before that you see one of the elephants with a needle. I don't like this game personally it might be good for people who are diabetic as it may help them in some sort of way. I personally knew nothing about this game I just was looking for Rom files and found this game. But I think it's a very depressing game it should of not been made it's not one that will make you happy and I have a feeling people who bought this game and who were diabetic did not like this. So as for this I cannot rate it as I am not diabetic but it may be useful for people who are diabetic. If you don't believe me about this game I will even show you cause I am not even making this up.

Fight Night Round 3 review

Posted : 2 months ago on 22 May 2008 10:22 (A review of Fight Night Round 3)

I'm a big fan of boxing, and this is most likely the best boxing game i have ever played.
The control system as with the prequel is fantastic, so smooth.
Although i liked the ladder feature more in Round 2, this time it feels more like an arcade boxing game.
The new cut man feature is a nice addition in the beginning, after a while it gets annoying.
It will always be a challenge making a boxing game that remains to be entertaining without taking it too far away from what it is.
I don't have any real problems with this. A bit more music variety, maybe a street fighting option, and increased levels of difficulty would of been good.
Hmm, maybe on the playstation 3. [=
I notice on the back of the box it says, intelligent ai that adjust to your pattern..lol, 20 jabs to the face on hardest difficulty?? m'kay.
If you're a boxing fan, you will love it, for a while.

6 in 1

Posted : 2 months ago on 22 May 2008 06:39 (A review of 6-Pak)

6 Pak is 6 games in 1 cartridge. Sonic the Hedgehog, Golden Axe, Super Hang-On, Streets of Rage, Shinobi's Revenge, and Columbs. It has a different game for which ever mood your in. The only thing I dont like about this game is the fact that it took no effort to make it. The Creators just threw some games into one cartridge and gave it the public. When buying this game, your actually buying 6 games. Looks like the Creators used thier smarts instead of skills to sell this game.

The Best RPG

Posted : 2 months ago on 22 May 2008 06:05 (A review of Lunar: Silver Star Story Complete (Collector's Edition))

Lunar is one of the best games i've played in my life. The story line is deep and adictive. The graphics are ok for a playstation game but the cut scene are awesome. The battle system I'd say is better than any Final Fantasy game. The best thing about the game is the music. It has the perfect music for each part of the game.

I recommend this epic adventure to any RPG lover.

Potty Mouthed Squirrel

Posted : 2 months ago on 22 May 2008 04:05 (A review of Conker's Bad Fur Day)

Conker's Bad Fur Day in my opinion is the best game for the N64.
Reasons: Has a good story line, Has a long story line, Great Graphics, Has alot of different Multiplayer games and scenarios, Good Gameplay, Catchy tunes, and a potty mouthed Squirrel that has a bad attitude.
Need I say more?

very enjoyable but lacking in some respects

Posted : 2 months ago on 21 May 2008 12:05 (A review of Dark Sector)

a friend of mine compared this to "gears of war" when he recommended it to me. while he might be right about that when it comes to certain aspects of the look and the controls, i think it can't compare at all when it comes to story. with "gears of war", even though the story isn't exactly the pinnacle of storytelling either, you always have a feeling of how the plot constantly progresses. not so with "dark sector"... you run and run and run and then maybe there's a cutscene here or there. and some of those cutscenes don't even seem to be particularly relevant to the story.

but it looks great, it has nice features (although e.g. the weapons upgrading feels more like "well... it is in there" than something they really thought a lot about - feels a lot better in e.g. resident evil 4), hacking away at those monsters is a lot of fun, which is why i would still recommend it to action fans. just don't expect it to be a game that gets you hooked immediately until you finish it.8/10

Fun fun fun!

Posted : 2 months ago on 21 May 2008 02:13 (A review of Mario Kart 64)

For the $15 I spent on this game, it's provided me with at least 30 hours of fun. It took a little while to master the controls (5-6 hours), but when I did, it was just awesome. Nintendo keeps it simple, nothing too fancy here, just a lot of fun. There are 16 tracks and 16 racers. The racers are only marginally different but the tracks provide good variety. Of the three racing games from the Nintendo 64, this one is the clear favourite. The two player mode works very well too and I've enjoyed racing with other people, even if they beat me sometimes.
