Review

Posted : 2 months ago on 24 May 2008 06:17 (A review of Clerks X)

Ah, Clerks. If nothing else, is shows that a film with a low budget can still be very successful. This is a very good introduction into Kevin Smith's style. The dialog is great great and the characters are believable. If you have worked much as a clerk, you will probably be able to recognize many of the different types of customers in the movie. Jay and Silent Bob are also introduced. This is one of the rare movies that is as funny now as the first time I watched it.

I found this movie very entertaining. The dinosaurs don't look quite as good as in Jurassic Park but they aren't bad. The acting was good. The storyline was enjoyable. The message of not overpowering the ecosystem came across in a way that was preachy. A good movie.

This is one of the more over estimated movies I've seen in a while. I hadn't read the book, but I can't say that the ending was very surprising. In fact, it was what I expected to occur. As the movie progressed I found myself not caring what happened to the characters, other than the bible thumper that was really pissing me off. For me, the movie failed at being scary and making you hope for the character's survival.

The Matrix

By far and still the BEST action flick out there by the Wachowski Brothers. They tried to make a come back with "No Country For Old Men" but The Matrix will always be buried in the back of my mind forever. LOL!

Breakfast at Tiffany's

Posted : 2 months, 1 week ago on 19 May 2008 12:22 (A review of Breakfast at Tiffany's (Special Aniversary Collector's Edition))

This is the best Audrey movie. It's a classic. People seem to forget how great she really was, and this was portrayed in her movies.
It has some very nice extra features, but I liked the movie the best. I am not a collecter for any special aniversaries, but maybe I should become a collecter for Audrey movies?

Step Up

Loved the movie. Just had to get the DVD.
The special features are very good. Including the myspace.com contest, to deleted scenes, how it was made.
It also has the standard things, such as scene selection, audio options.
Even the previews are good.

Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone (Special Widescreen Edition) (Harry Potter 1) review

Posted : 2 months, 1 week ago on 18 May 2008 04:50 (A review of Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone (Special Widescreen Edition) (Harry Potter 1))

In terms of the Potter series, this is a classic. It's true to the books without being ridiculously dull, which is something I can't say about the rest of the films.

The adult actors are spot on, the children... not so much. But they're so darn cute, you ignore it. If you're a Potter fan, you own this already. If not, give it a try. Outstanding, mind blowing? Perhaps not. But it's a solid movie.

National Treasure 2: Book of Secrets

Posted : 2 months, 1 week ago on 18 May 2008 03:27 (A review of National Treasure 2: Book of Secrets)

I haven't yet seen the first "National Treasure", but I brought the sequel home in order to check it out and be able to recommend it (or not) at work. I wasn't overly impressed with this...though it is entertaining. Just nothing really special, in my opinion.

National Lampoon Presents Cattle Call

Posted : 2 months, 1 week ago on 17 May 2008 11:28 (A review of National Lampoon Presents Cattle Call)

Pretty awful. Feels like a lot of stuff got chopped out of the movie, and the writing is terrible, so the acting is awful.
