Description: Formed in the late 1970s in New Jersey by beefcake idol Glenn Danzig, the Misfits forged horrorshow hardcore that continues to thrill (predominantly) male white suburban teens. If hardcore punk rock had a model superego/conscience in Ian MacKaye of Minor Threat, Danzig was its id unleashed--sort of. "Night of the Living Dead" and "Astro Zombies"--the two standout loud/fast anthems on this, the Misfits' meisterwerk of loud, cool pummel--are named after horror flicks.
