Ex-Hellacopters guitarist Dregen matches incendiary riffs with vocalist Nicke Borg and the intense chemistry crackling between bassist Johan Blomquist and drummer Peder Carlsson sends the entire pile-driving concoction spiralling into the stratosphere. From the slamming, full-tilt frenzy of "Made Me Madman" to the towering crescendos of "Highlights", Total 13 never lets up. In fact, it is fair to say that rock has rarely been rolled with such vehement stamina, and the Backyard Babies' forthright redefinition of raw power immediately established them as one of glam metal's leading lights.
