A masterpiece classic. Take Five went on to be one of the most popular tracks during the early 60's and gave this quartet a chance to tour the World based off this track alone. In the liner notes Dave states that it wasn't even suppose to be a hit, just a Joe Morello drum solo. "The source of the pianist’s hits of the ’50s, this contains “Take Five” and “Blue Rondo à la Turk,” uniting hipsters and squares in admiration for Brubeck. Laconic saxophonist Paul Desmond is the olive in the martini. Standout track: “Take Five”"
