Starts off slow out of the gate. Scattered thoughout the album, lush harmonies and acoustic guitars live happily between the occasional chunky guitar riff and thundering drum pattern. This record does not overpower the listener. The musicianship is impressive.

"As far as APC goes, it is difficult to choose among their three (so far) albums. They all possess an amazing quality. Anything Maynard James Keenan is involved in is always very emotional, and despite knowing exactly what emotion he wants you to feel, you can easily identify and insert your own feelings into the music. This album is, on a grand scale, containing most of my favorite APC songs. Always intense, my favorite tracks include Weak and Powerless, The Noose, Blue, The Outsider, and Lullab"
