Description
Most bands that come from Nashville wear cowboy hats write songs about punching their horses. No such problems with the Pink Spiders, who at an early age sound like they traded in their Oak Ridge Boys CDs for the complete back catalog of New York's mid-'90s garage rock revivalists, D-Generation. Like that group's breakthrough album, No Lunch
Like that group's breakthrough album, No Lunch, this disc was also produced by Ric Ocasek, the former Cars front man who has built a second career out of creating hits for guys that dress like his old band. Cue a fast and furious racket of skuzzy guitars, blasting power-pop drum fills and skinny-tie sound effects that turn up pleasantly stupid guilty pleasures like "Saturday Nite Riot" and "Little Razorblade." --Aidin Vaziri
