Of note among the remixes is Tony Wiggins's acoustic country "White Trash" version of "Cake and Sodomy." This is really a keeper, though, for Manson's clever choice of covers, including an authentically creepy interpretation of Eurythmics' "Sweet Dreams" and the shot-in-the-arm he gives to Patti Smith's "outside of society" anthem, "Rock 'N' Roll Nigger." (Attention trivia buffs: Manson's unrestrained reworking of Howling Wolf's "I Put a Spell on You" was later included on the soundtrack to David Lynch's Lost Highway.) --Gail Worley... (more)(less)

"I love this EP for a variety of reasons...the trio of covers present are the best this band has recorded, the "remixes" of songs off their debut are more like re-imaginings than actual remixes, and the overall vibe is fucking creepy. There's a track or two I can't stand to listen to though, which has always been the case & as such there's no way I can give this full marks.
Fun fact: I also own a bootleg copy of the original version of this album, which has slight variations in the track listing"
