By: Metallica
Release date: 1987
Standing track: For Whom the Bell Tolls
Ride the Lightning, Metallica's second album, truly bought the monsters forward to a larger fan-base. Furthermore, I consider this, alongside Master of Puppets which I like but not *that* much, to be the 'true' Metallica album and every song is a winner!

More distinctive riffs this time around and song writing credits include lead guitarist Kirk Hammett this time around and bassist Cliff Burton has more of an input in the process this time around. A powerful album with some very morbid themes, surrounded by fitting music.

For a hill men would kill why? They do not know
Stiffened wounds test their pride
Men of five, still alive through the raging glow
Gone insane from this pain that they surely know
For whom the bell tolls
Time marches on
For whom the bell tolls
Take a look to the sky just before you die
It is the last time you will

(First off; I am not a Metallica fan, nor have I bought any of their records outside the first 3 albums I owned on cassettes, my opinion only. So please don't give me anything over not having them in the Top 10.)
Metallica already gets enough credit as the biggest Metal band in the 80's, so I really am not going to talk about how ground breaking their work is. If anyone asked me what my favorite album from t"
