Funkier than an old gym sock

DJ Quik is one of the dopest producers of all time. His style relies heavily on live instrumentation and strong grooves. His beats are thinkly layered with different sampled instruments that are perfectled layed out. This album is what I consider to be his best front to back display of skill on the boards. Some favorite tracks are We Still Party, So Many Wayz & especially You'z A Ganxta. The one thing that's sort of holding this album back is the lyrical content. It's pretty playful for the most part, just a lot of party jams (bitches, booze & smoking B's) and whatnot. Don't look for deep thought provoking, political shit on here because you won't find it.
