To listen to this album is to hear the evolution and growing independence, ferocity and persona that is Tina Turner. To put it more simply, Proud Mary: The Best of Ike & Tina Turner is an essential album because it is a showcase for one of the most influential legends in music. I choose three songs to recommend for downloading if an album is 15 songs or more, and choosing only three was extremely difficult. There’s so many songs which are essential, or worthy of repeated listens. Most of that has to do with Tina.
