Description: Originally intended as a stopgap record following the massive success of Nirvana's Nevermind, the archival Incesticide album has taken on an added significance in light of subsequent events. Consisting of outtakes, demos, non-album singles, and live BBC sessions, it's a fascinating if less-than-truly essential listening experience. Highlights include the rip-roaring childhood memoir "Sliver" and its caustic companion (from a pre-Nevermind single) "Dive." There's also a brilliant cover of the Vaselines' "Molly's Lips." " As bizarre as it sounds I've always been aware of the existence of Incesticide... but until recently I wasn't exactly sure what kind of album it was. I knew it was released in-between Nevermind and In Utero but I kind of thought it was a b-side collection or something. Of course, those familiar with it know this is incorrect yet I have to admit that for demo material Nirvana had some great ideas in the early years. Top Tracks: While I enjoyed Incesticide I really haven't listened to it enough"

"I prefer this collection of b-sides over the Nirvana albums it fell between, even if it is a little uneven. This is possibly the only album where it sounds like Nirvana was having fun. Favorite song: "Hairspray Queen" "
