The generic, indecipherable vocals, mindnumbingly tedious riffing and songs that do next to nothing to distinguish themselves from each other result in what is probably the worst metal release I have ever laid my ears on. On the bright side, it`s only an ep so I didn`t have to endure the boredom for very long.

When certain few Black Metal vocals like these make you shiver and leave you somewhat unsettled, THAT is a sign of a truly demented, evil individual. I'd rank Atrox right up there with Holocausto, J. Read, Black Winds, Sabazios Diabolus, and Attila Csihar. Normally a drum machine would ruin a recording, but I feel it serves this lifeless (in a good way of course!), hopeless, and seemingly inhuman music well. This is Black Metal in its purest, most misanthropic form. Add Centuries Of Deception to the list of worthy American Black Metal bands.
