Album Description
Porterhouse Records is proud to re-issue a cornerstone west coast punk rock release, "Group Sex" by the Circle Jerks Features a new media disc portion that includes never before heard bonus tracks from the bands first rehersals and live shows. The disc is filled with memorabilia, flyers, photos long lost video and more!
If ever there was a slam-dance soundtrack, this is it. Founded by Keith Morris (fresh from an early Black Flag lineup) and ex-Redd Kross guitarist Greg Hetson, the Circle Jerks made fast, crude, and occasionally very funny music. Their live performances became notorious as show attendants were routinely whipped into a frenzy by the band's accelerated pace. Group Sex is the band's defining moment. The opener, "Deny Everything" is followed 25 seconds later by the astounding "I Just Want Some Skank" (a virtual magnum opus, clocking in at a whopping 1:08). What they lack in sophistication, depth, and taste, they more than make up for in enthusiasm and brevity. No collection of early L.A. punk would be complete without it. --Mike Corrigan
