The Real First Psychedelic Rock Album

Frank Zappa is quite possibly the most misunderstood person in American music history. Despite the acknowledged fact that he was a genius all around in music and a very intelligent person to hear speak, many people don't exactly understand his music or even attempt to. For years he attracted the crowd of the freaks and weirdos, the outcasts of society that didn't fit in with the status quo... read more

Despite the acknowledged fact that he was a genius all around in music and a very intelligent person to hear speak, many people don't exactly understand his music or even attempt to. For years he attracted the crowd of the freaks and weirdos, the outcasts of society that didn't fit in with the status quo of everyone else, and for that, we loved him very dearly for it.

There's an old saying that Zappa was a "musician's musician" cause so many people will admit to how he was a genius but they can't find any of his music listenable. The problem with this is people are fucking stupid and closed minded, cause I guarantee you that if you gave more than one album a chance, you would find s” read more

"26th January Freak Out! was the first time Frank Zappa recorded music, at this point within the band The Mothers of Invention. A great ensemble, who were open minded and brave enough to record Zappa's wildy inventive and crazy music. Lead singer Ray Collins even helped co-write one song with the legendary guitarist/composer. It was way ahead of its time. There's interesting satire from the get go, there's sincere love songs, there's songs sung in a style that both parody and embrace earlier st"

""A master guitarist and provocateur, Frank Zappa made more than sixty albums, but the first was perhaps the most groundbreaking. The double-disc Freak Out! declares the arrival of a visionary weirdo who dabbles in doo-wop, pop-song parody, protest tunes, art rock and avant-garde classical.""
