Enemy of the Enemy - Asian Dub Foundation

The truly affecting moments come when they shift down the gears, working trademark Asian-dub into dank dragging laments. "2Faced" is a phenomenally eerie, Portishead-styled indictment of urban decay. Meanwhile, the haunting "1000 Mirrors" has Sinead O'Connor distilling the pain of an abusive relationship into the most tragic of laments. It's not all doom and gloom though. "Power of the Small Massive", for one, uses their frenetic percussion and Indo-rock for an all-consuming celebration rather than attack. Happy or vitriolic, Enemy of the Enemy never fails to stimulate.
