Its inclusion on the Trainspotting soundtrack only broadened its influence, casting an even wider net and bringing peripheral followers of electronic music into the fold. The song makes use of an ingenious vocal, fuzzy and loose, looping phrases of cadence around irresistible BPMs that could inspire the most bashful wallflower to raid the dance floor. The song's influence is such that some have claimed it to be the unassailable pinnacle of electronica. While such statements are debatable, it's instructional to realize that the genre concept "electronica" only congealed when "Born Slippy" astronomically expanded the all-around influence of electronic music. In effect, it's already a classic. --Matthew Cooke (Review copyright Amazon.co.uk)... (more)(less)
