The Best of Village People displays that they were a great party band, and a reminder of just how silly, camp, and dumb they were. Their songs remain anthems for stadiums and awkward drunken dancing at wedding receptions. Come on, everyone’s had to suffer through watching their older relatives embarrass themselves trying to do the dance to “YMCA.”   Twelve songs is already an amount of V... read more

Description: OK, "Macho Man," after you are "In the Navy" and you've spent the night at the "Y.M.C.A" in New York City, you should "Go West" to "San Francisco" where they "Can't Stop the Music" and then, when it gets too foggy, head out for some sun in "Key West." All the great Village People classics are in this collection. "They were very silly. They didn’t care. They performed the campiest songs of all time, and jocks everywhere are still dancing to them. Gay disco was born here and was never more cartoony or fun. And the “Y.M.C.A.” lineup is still a pop icon. Standout track: “Y.M.C.A.”"
