While Noctourniquet was, in typical Mars Volta fashion, written by Omar Rodriguez-Lopez and Cedric Bixler-Zavala and produced by Rodriguez-Lopez, the 13-track album explores musical territories previously uncharted in the duo's 20 or so years of creating music together. "March 24th-31st
"The Malkin Jewel"
Over the weekend I found out rollingstone.com was streaming the new Mars Volta album in its entirety. I wound up listening to it 7 times in 3 days, and can therefore say that this is their best album since Frances the Mute. Didn't realize until now that this is the first single off the album, but it was immediately my favorite track. I'm buying the album today & will continue listening to it throughout the week."
