You Were Never Lovelier

A charming and utterly delightful little song-and-dance romantic comedy, You Were Never Lovelier comes the closest to recapturing the magic of the Fred Astaire and Ginger Rogers films such as Top Hat or Shall We Dance. Instead of Ginger Rogers we have Rita Hayworth. The title alone could be used to describe her peaches and cream complexion, luscious hair and sensual body. Being a Fred Astaire musi... read more

You Were Never Lovelier

“A charming and utterly delightful little song-and-dance romantic comedy, You Were Never Lovelier comes the closest to recapturing the magic of the Fred Astaire and Ginger Rogers films such as Top Hat or Shall We Dance. Instead of Ginger Rogers we have Rita Hayworth. The title alone could be used to describe her peaches and cream complexion, luscious hair and sensual body. Being a Fred Astaire musical comedy the plot is fairly idiotic and most of the joy comes from watching two people perform expertly done song and dance numbers. Astaire was an amazingly

limber and fluid dancer, but was often a less than stellar thespian. He was smart enough to always surround himself with women who could pick up the acting slack, even if they lacked the technical precision that so easily flowed o” read more

"1.12.2009, boksi Lisää sodanaikaista Astaire-Hayworthia, voisinkin oikeastaan sanoa tästä just samat asiat ku hyvin samantyyppisestä You'll Never Get Richistä, nyt musa vaan on hieman latinompaa (ollaanhan sentään Buenos Airesissa). Astairella on luonnollisesti pari aina yhtä vaikuttavaa steppinumeroa, Haywort loistaa kauneudellaan ja muutama ihan hauska juttukin löytyy."
