X-Men: The Last Stand

(A review of X-Men: The Last Stand)Intriguing and frustrating in nearly equal doses, the last movie in the X-Men franchise proper has a lot of potential and very little delivery. First of all, the ideas and story lines that the writers were forced to include were all top notch arcs. The Dark Phoenix and The Cure alone would have made compelling films, and probably should have been kept separated. When put together neither one is given the correct amount of time to breathe. If the producers hadn't interfered, and if Fox wasn't dead set on a release date...it could have turned out to be a much tighter screenplay. Secondly, the cast is all first-rate. Kelsey Grammer, Ellen Page, Vinnie Jones, Shohreh Aghdashloo and Ben Foster are all excellently chosen for their roles and gifted actors (alright, so Jones has one type, but he was hired to play that type). It's a pity all of them were given the short shift in character development. And while I was happy to see more of favorite things come to life (Danger Room! Juggernaut! Beast! Callisto! Sentinels!), they were not always realized in a....good way. And that is the major problem. For every positive, there's at least one or two negatives to correspond with it. It's like Alien 3 all over again. More proof that studio tampering is the wrong thing to do, especially with tent pole franchises. What's left is a smart story, intriguing characters and satisfying finale to the franchise buried deep in there somewhere. But it's getting through the Franken-plot that stops most people from looking too deeply. This is why fanboys hate Fox.

(A review of X-Men: The Last Stand)In this movie the cure is created. The cure get rid of a mutants powers. The Brother Hood wants to rid of the people who made it and the human beings that want them to take it. So, the X-Men come to protect the people that made the cure and all the human beings. Since the Brother Hood and the X-Men are for different things they fight for what they want. Jean Grey just joined the Brother Hood in this movie and she gets the power of the Phoenix that takes control of her. She is killed my Wolverine which he is foreced to do. Magneto got the cure because Beast hits him with it. Also, Rogue takes the cure but she isn't forced to do it.

(A review of X-Men: The Last Stand)The idea of mutants and humans is great. And the film is obviously at a specific public that will enjoy such movies and soundtrack.
It's a fun trilogy - but as with most trilogies, the quality goes downhill.
The first X-Men was really enjoyable, while the next two were mediocre in quality; it shows even in the actors' performances.
Patrick Stewart, in this third installment of X-Men, particularly looks as if he were computer generated, it's that pathetic and bad.
In any case, it's fun, action-filled, and it's got a good cast. The movie is worth watching just for that.

(A review of X-Men: The Last Stand)For months before X-MEN 3 i was excited, the adverts looked awe inspiring and the story sounded brilliant. I really thought it would be the greatest of the trilogy and that they would continue to surpass themselves at every turn. Instead we got this awful kill fest that just trys to make the story "shocking" by killing half the characters aimlessly instead of actually creating a better plot. They tried to hard to incorporate as many fan favorites as possible so that everyone would feel like they must see it to view x and y.
This film was a blatant ploy to get everyone into the cinema and out again for as little effort as possible, milking the success of the other 2 films a little too far and insulting anyone who actually liked the first two films. I hear they are making a wolverine and a magneto film, im not very sure wether i shall bother to watch them! I will probably wait until someone else buys it on DVD and puts it on as i am not giving them another PENNY of my money after this shite.
If you really like X-Men then dont bother with this unless you have to, i think my review will wind up having a good effect on you as you will think "Oh, it wasn't as bad as he felt!" but when your the other way around, expecting gold, you find it hard not to feel let down.
All i remember in the cinema now is getting up feeling gutted that i had raised my hopes on this, even my partner was disappointed for me because she knew id been looking forward to it for weeks. It'l take a lot of people raving and shouting about the next films for me to take interest!!
Definite 1/10 from me!

(A review of X-Men: The Last Stand)this movie has a very good qaulity of action and a story line because the mutants that want to kill the humans have to go through the mutants who want to save the humans and so they have this big battle which happens after a mutant boy has been found to have the power to "cure" the mutants and rouge gets cured and so does mystic and magneto and gene becomes her evil self phenoix and in the end wolverine has to kill her all in all a good movie

(A review of X-Men: The Last Stand)This is one of the worst movies I have ever seen.
WARNING: SPOILERS
First off, they kill everyone just like that. Scott, Xavier, and what DID happen to nightcrawler?! And all of the other people in the school for that matter? Angel was barely in any of the movie, Pheonix just stood there the entire time, and WHY DID MAGNETO HAVE TO MOVE THE ENTIRE FREAKIN BRIDGE?!? WHY NOT LEVITATE A SMALL CAR OVER?!?!?!?!?
Also, they seemed to change all of the characters attitudes and such. Xavier got angry easily, as did Wolverine, and Scott.
Going back to the death of Scott, I mean how much more can you condense it? ZAP. "How did you get back?" "I don't know." KISS. DEAD.
Hmm.....plot filled.
I could go on and on, but I'll stop there.
For those of you who loved the first two and are thinking about seeing the third, I can honestly say, I regret seeing it and will NEVER see it again.

Good, but not great.

(A review of X-Men: The Last Stand)I thought it was very good, but not as good as X2. The mutant-on-mutant fighting was cool, but it wasn't as character-driven as the first two movies were. It didn't have as much heart.

(A review of X-Men: The Last Stand)I enjoyed some things about the movie but there were others that I didn't. Scott was killed at the beggining of the movie, he never died in the comic and was part of the pheonix storyline. Halle Berry got too big of a part, I guess that's why they killed off Scott. The phoenix didn't look like the phoenix and played a small part in the movie. Nightclawer disappears, leaving them with six x-men for their final fight, most of which are children. The new charators had little to no storyline. The main thing about this movie was the cure, phoenix and the other storylines were treated as if they were not important. I did enjoy the movie, I just wanted to speak my mind about what I didn't like.
