"This girl's dead. That guy's dead... That guy in the corner is definitely dead."

Although Warm Bodies seems like a blatant attempt to cash in on the "supernatural teen romance" subgenre popularised by the abominable Twilight saga, the similarities start and end with the idea of a human falling in love with a supernatural creature. In fact, Warm Bodies has more in common with Edward... read more

When you think about zombies two things that pop into your mind is flesh eating monsters and George A Romero. After a cold and quiet January, Warm Bodies manages to warm and liven things up at the multiplexes. I will admit, when I first heard about this I thought of Twilight and what this movie would to the zombie genre that Twilight did to the vampire genre. A lot of people thought this as well and that's perfectly understandable but, I was pleasantly surprised. To compare this to Twilight is almost an i... read more

29 Characters Who Were Whitewashed by Hollywood (29 movies items)

"Nora The 2013 zombie comedy Warm Bodies features a character named Nora, who is described as half-Ethiopian. It seems like it would have been kind of a no-brainer to cast a woman of color in this role (or at least to a person with slightly darker feature, sheesh). For some reason, though, the role went to blonde and blue-eyed Analeigh Tipton."

Brilliant To The Awful - Movies Watched In 2015 (210 movies items)

"This is an interesting and rather fresh entry into the tiring zombie genre. Despite lots of good entertainment, we really haven't been offered something new, not until this movie came along. It's more of a romantic comedy than a horror and the movie is told from the perspective of the main zombie, R. It's touching, sweet, gruesome, and action-packed. I think everyone from both genders should enjoy it. The acting is actually quite good. Nicholas Hoult does a great job as R. Teresa Palmer is reall"

" This is a nice movie, and an interesting take on the zombie genre, even with all its cheesyness aside, it ends up being a big and nice breath of fresh air in a genre that in my opinion is walking dead for a while now. Score: Pretty Good!"

Top 10 Worst Movies (11 movies items)

" I don't think there is anything wrong with Beauty And The Beast type stories, but still Warm Bodies rubs me the wrong way because it is just a rehash of Twilight with elements of Bicentennial Man thrown in. Mainly the whole 'non-human character who wants to be human' thing. Plus, it kind of promotes necrophilia. If you want a movie that has a 'sexy' zombie in it, watch Return Of The Living Dead - trust me, Linnea Quiggley is the only 'sexy' zombie you'll ever need - well, her and Mel"

“I was not sure what to expect from this film, I set myself up for disappointment but was surprised. Warm Bodies is another gem of a film, nothing like Twilight something better. The story is about a zombie, who meets a girl and starts becoming human again. The movie has laughter, tears a little action and one hell of a good story. If you like your romance story a little different, and like a different take on zombies then Warm Bodies is not to be missed.” read more

Pure rom-com bliss

“"This girl's dead.

In fact, Warm Bodies has more in common with Edward Scissorhands, as it's a quirky, incredibly endearing romance that's wonderfully acted and directed. It's a peculiar hybrid of Shakespeare and zombies, but the result is pure bliss, with writer-director Jonathan Levine (50/50) pulling off an ostensibly impossible tonal juggling act to tell this oddball tale of zombie romance. It may not match films like Shaun of the Dead or Zombieland in terms of laugh” read more

“When you think about zombies two things that pop into your mind is flesh eating monsters and George A Romero. Going into Warm Bodies I was sceptical about a zombie film that had emotions on display, and coming out of it I am still sceptical about the execution, the idea that an entire mystical, unearthly creatures decades long lore has been thrown out the window for a film that is essentially about how love conquers all.

How can this not be called the Twilight of Zombie films? It’s not an insult to call it that, because in many ways it does to the zombie genre what Twilight did ” read more

While I did enjoy this movie very much, I can't help but feel that the trailers promised so much more. This movie is many things, part horror, part comedy, part romance, part action, part romantic comedy but, this movie only achieves some of these and fails in others. The horror is kind of lame, the bonies are suppose to p” read more
