Bullets making curves and a lot of NONSENSE, but still a great movie. Maybe it's cast's fault! Maybe it's just because you just KNOW it will be full of nonsense like most action movies, so that you just expect for the nonsense and you enjoy it.

Wanted Dead or Alive!

''Curve the bullet...Shoot the target!'' "Wanted" tells the tale of one apathetic nobody's transformation into an unparalleled enforcer of justice... James McAvoy: Wesley Gibson Morgan Freeman: Sloan Angelina Jolie: Fox ''Welcome... to the Fraternity. This gun you're holding belonged to your father; he could conduct a symphony orchestra with it.'' Well what can I say about Wanted? I can start by saying it's one of the most adult, graphic novel adaptation's of brutal execution that is bordering, seaming even, with fast paced drool worthy action sequences and over the top violence. Think Matrix or a kick ass shoot out film like Shoot em Up or Equilibrium but with a hell of alot more guns, even more tantalizing possibilities and skillfully defined plot twists. M...Read more

A guilty pleasure of an action flick

"It's a choice, Wesley, that each of us must face: to remain ordinary, pathetic, beat-down, coasting through a miserable existence, like sheep herded by fate - or you can take control of your own destiny and join us, releasing the caged wolf you have inside." In Hollywood, it's an extraordinarily scarce occurrence to behold an action film that isn't afraid to push the boundaries in terms of violence and carnage. Wanted is an incredibly entertaining, hardcore action film submerged in an ocean dominated by lacklustre sequels and films that are hopelessly overhyped. With 2008's summer line-up featuring The Dark Knight, Iron Man, Get Smart, Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull among several others, it's a breath of fresh air to witness a production such as this. At its cor...Read more

Oodles of action

I didn't have high hopes for this movie because the story seemed so ridiculous and as much as I adore James McAvoy, I had difficulty seeing him as an action start. But consider my doubts dispelled. Yes, some of the plot points are so out there but in the context of the film they work. Mainly it's because the movie has so much action - 90 plus minutes of completely over-the-top, humor-laced action, that you don't have time to consider the preposterousness of it all. What holds it together is actually James McAvoy's character, Wesley Gibson - an ordinary guy who goes from zero to hero in less than 6 weeks. His sense of awe and wonder at discovering this secret world and realizing that his universe is completely off-kilter is shared by the audience. The key to this movie is to just h...Read more

Was it the best action movie I've seen recently? No. Did I expect it to be? No. But it was fun, it kept me entertained while at the theatre, and that's really all that mattered. What good did the movie have going for it? Hot Scottish actor (with phony American accent, alas) wielding firearms? Check. Fun special effects? Check. Unexpected twist near the end? Check. An actor playing a bit part who guest starred on Doctor Who? Check. (Really, anything that even remotely can be connected to Doctor Who is exciting.) There were some things that totally annoyed me with the movie - most specifically James McAvoy's narration throughout parts of the movie (highly annoying at the beginning of the movie), and McAvoy's character's motivation for becoming an assassin. While he says it's beca...Read more

Entertaining, But A Little Dull.

"Wanted" is a highly entertaining film with some spectacular action scenes, and a good car chase. I was into the film for the first fifteen or twenty minutes, where Wesley was explaining his life, and his problems. After all of that the film kind of got repetitive and dull. I always caught myself waiting for something more to happen. I highly enjoyed the training process, and great action scene at the end of the film, and the last scene, but this film just wasn't well paced enough for me, and it had a lot unrealistic matrix type stuff too. I highly enjoyed this film, it just was not great.

A highly entertaining but preposterous, leave-your-brain at the door, film. The start of the movie is somewhat slow but the pace evens out as the movie progresses. In addition to the eye-candy, the film also has a few nice action sequences. What do you expect from another comic-book to movie production? It is what it is, but aside from the gratuitous violence, it was a lot of fun to watch.
